You’re either attacking or you’re moving. Unfortunately, I feel like I’m clicking my mouse to death and I dislike the lack of strafing. A mouse and keyboard are my preferred method for this game. Now, this is neither a positive nor a negative per se, but I wanted to talk about the controls on PC. If you have Torchlight III on multiple platforms, you can’t move your characters around.
Another side downer that is fairly minimal, but hopefully comes in the not distant future is the lack of cross saves. Sadly, that’s not possible like in other ARPGs. I would’ve loved if I could’ve just sat down and played the game with my wife on our Switch together. In essence, it just feels like an MMO rather than an ARPG dungeon-crawler.Ī side downer I have is that on console, there’s no couch co-op. Well, you have to go back to the multiplayer window anyways and have others running around.

I started playing the game with my friend and then I decided I wanted to continue the story in an offline session. Once again, I don’t understand why they essentially created two servers for each player then instead of allowing characters to flow back and forth depending on how players want to play. The only other concern that I can think of is that some players may not want to do the multiplayer stuff, so that’s why they’re separate. If the concern is having overpowered characters helping lower-level characters, they could easily do things like adjusting a character’s level/power based on the area they’re in. This is very annoying to me and I cannot think of any reason why it needs to be this way. My other main downer is the simple fact that you have different characters for single-player and multiplayer games. This still feels like a huge oversight that I imagine should be a simple fix. First, I’m still frustrated that when you create your character you can change their hair, but there’s no way to rotate your character during creation and see what they look like from any angle other than the front. I want to start on the downer notes today.

Torchlight 2 doesn't seem to have that same anti-boss farming system, as far as I can tell.Īlso, I'm not really sure what boss you're referring to in Diablo 2 that is this accessible.Last month, Torchlight III left the Early Access model and became available in full on PC, PS4, and Xbox with the Nintendo Switch version coming out a week or so later. One of the things the flag did was to make it so item drops from killing that boss beyond the first time were not as good. this game is a diablo 2 copy.ĭiablo 2 actually had a flag that is triggered the first time you kill the boss for each difficulty. It also sounds exactly like Diablo 2 and oh wait. Well, I haven't tried exactly what you described, but I've played the game enough that it didn't surprise me. You don't have to be an asshat just because you think you know better, you know. I didn't say the idea of farming a boss is ridiculous. That's why the route/location is ridiculous.
Umm.most ARPGs, that I've played, don't have farmable bosses that consistently drop uniques and are accessible in less than 5 seconds. You found out that farming bosses over and over gives the most loot? Don't forget the ornate chest that may also drop some uniques. He will always drop one level 50ish unique and a spell scroll. Use the lift nearby to go up a floor and fight the Alchemist (phase 3). Reroll the world and take the waypoint back to The Broken Mines. After beating the Alchemist (phase 3), activate the waypoint in The Broken Mines - Floor 5.
